From 1990-2007 there was one man to look out for on the Competitive Bodybuilding circuit. That man was Mr. Ronnie Coleman. His stunning achievements are a highlight reel that encompass an astounding 26 wins as an IFBB professional.
Have you heard Ronnie Coleman’s nickname? Well, it’s simply Mr. Olympia. Ronnie has won the coveted title 8 times. Did I mention he owned the competition from 1998-2005 to win his 8 titles in a row? This man was a monstrous 297 pound of hard work and dedication to the sport of competitive body building and will always be remember as one of the all time greats.
Ronnie Coleman grew up in Louisiana in 1964. He ended up going to Grambling State and graduating cum laude while playing a little football with the Tigers. When he graduated he settled down as a police officer and kept up his physical fitness habits.
He had free time between shifts as a police officer and really began to intensify his training. Ronnie was introduced to a prominent gym owner who offered him a lifetime membership if he would let the guy train him.
The rest is history. Ronnie went on to win the Mr. Texas bodybuilding competition that year. He went on to win his first professional title, The Canada pro cup in 1995 and proceeded to go on a tear that isn’t soon to be matched.
Ronnie Coleman has gone on to capture lucrative deals with supplements companies and stepped into the world of book writing and workout videos. Ronnie Coleman proves that if you have the desire and dedication you can transform something you have a passion for into an incredible profession.
